BTA Exhibition Information

Bangladesh Theater Archives began its journey from 1986. The first phase was initiated with the collection of theater posters only. Later with the compilation of other ancillary theater materials it has taken the shape of a research institute proper. It has now turned into a full-fledged archive equipped with theater information and materials on theater. On different occasions theater researchers, teachers, students, theater activists/organizers, and postgraduate theater researchers have used this institution as their authentic source, and still are doing so. Moreover, the Archives have been invited by different theater institutions and government establishments to organize a number of exhibitions with the resources that it has collected and compiled so far. At the beginning these exhibitions were held by the names of individuals/institutions that sponsored them but at present the Archives are using its own banner for such events. Bangladesh Theater Archives gives utmost importance to these events and responds to each and every invitation with considerable interest and seriousness. As these exhibitions attract a large number of audiences, they tremendously incentivize the Archives activities. Besides, all these exhibitions are inaugurated by the persons of national as well as international repute. From 1988 until 2020 Bangladesh Theater Archives has organized 50 such exhibitions, which perhaps is a historical record. All this has been possible with the relentless help and encouragement of the theater activists and personalities which is the core guiding force of the Archives.
